The Blanche
Blanche Armagnac: fruit before wood.
Blanche Armagnac AOC is a grape eau-de-vie made in the Armagnac region. Unlike cask-aged Armagnacs, it keeps its crystal-clear colour and puts the emphasis on fruit and floral aromas. With BLANCHE, Cloud & Clet offers a direct, contemporary interpretation.

Why “Blanche”?
Blanche Armagnac or amber Armagnac?
Both are born from wine and Armagnac know-how. The key difference comes after distillation: amber Armagnac ages in wood, which gives its colour and oak-related aromas. Blanche is kept in an inert vessel and stays clear; it highlights aromas that come more directly from the grape and the distillation.
- AOC since 2005
- At least 3 months of regulated maturation
- Batch control before release

Frequently asked questions
Is Blanche Armagnac an Armagnac?
It is a grape eau-de-vie from the Armagnac area, recognised by its own protected designation of origin: Blanche Armagnac AOC. It shares the terroir and know-how of Armagnac, but is never aged in wood.
Why is it clear?
After distillation it is kept in an inert vessel, which does not add the colour that oak gives. Its transparency is one of the defining characteristics of the appellation.
Is it a vodka or a gin?
No. Blanche Armagnac is a grape eau-de-vie produced in a regulated geographical area. Its profile comes from the grape and the distillation, not from a sought-after neutrality or from botanicals.
Is Blanche Armagnac aged?
It is not aged in oak casks. Regulations do, however, require a minimum maturation period in an inert vessel before it is released.
How do I use Blanche Armagnac in cocktails?
It works with tonic, lemon, herbs or fruit in recipes where its personality remains noticeable. Quantities are given in our cocktail selection.
What is the difference between Blanche Armagnac AOC and BLANCHE Cloud & Clet?
“Blanche Armagnac AOC” is the name of an appellation that any producer following its specifications can make. “BLANCHE Cloud & Clet” is the bottle made by our house.
